Weddings at Weymouth Ceremony Rooms

Weymouth Registry Office (or the Weymouth Ceremony Rooms) is perhaps my closest venue at maybe a 5 minute walk from my house so I'm always slightly excited to book a wedding there. It's got a great central location in Weymouth, plenty of car parks near by for your guests and is perfect for a no frills kind of a ceremony.

That's exactly what I&B chose. A lovely, short registrar led ceremony surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

They were well looked after by the registrar team at the Ceremony Rooms, with staff waiting to guide guests up to the room and glorious air con to help in that mid july heat!

Family Centred Ceremony

There's a lot of really lovely photos from this wedding that I can't share in this blog post because I'm not willing to post photos of other peoples children on the internet. But I&B's children were such a big part of what made this ceremony special. From looking after the rings, to hiding underneath the registrars table mid ceremony, and joining in with the walk back up the aisle, the kids were a part of every aspect and brough everyone some well needed joy and laughter.

First Moments as Husband and Wife

Something I'd always encourage on a wedding day is sneaking off to have a couple of moments of peace as a newlywed couple - especially seeing how busy an sometimes chaotic a wedding day can be. Most of the time that's scheduling in time for portraits somewhere away from the guests, so that I can help give you that time together, but for I&B they got lucky and managed a short couple of minutes straight after the ceremony in the buildings foyer. They had time to check in with each other, let everything sink in and just be before all their guests joined them.

Wedding Receptions at Weymouth Rugby Club

After the ceremony, everyone headed up to the Rugby Club for family photos, portraits and the reception. That's one of the only downsides to the ceremony rooms, there's not really any outside space for nice, formal photos. Luckily, the Rugby Club has an abundance of areas of photos. Although on a hot summers day, there's not a lot of shade to hide in so prepare to get a bit sweaty!

Wedding Portraits

I had a lot of fun taking these portraits. The weather was perfect and the view from this spot at the rugby club made for a beautiful background!

We only had 10 minutes together to take these, but I think they show that you don't need to be scheduling hours for portraits on your wedding day. Sometimes 10 minutes is more than enough, and gives you plenty of time to go back and enjoy your guests.
